My oldest son and oldest granddaughter share a birthday, so we usually have a joint party. This year Natalie wanted a mustache on her cake. So instead of having one girly cake, I did this!
This way we were able to have a chocolate cake and the Red Velvet cake Natalie wanted. I frosted each cake in buttercream, then added a foam mustache to each. Much easier than working with fondant!
Happy Birthday, Natalie! Can't believe you're eleven!
Oh, and Happy Birthday, Bobby!! Can't believe you're 34!!
This blog is a gallery of sorts for the cakes and cookies I make, as well as the occasional non-cake or cookie post about other projects, ideas, accomplishments, pet peeves, etc.!

New Grandson!!
Meet Jackson Lee!! He is our second grandson out of eleven grandchildren!! So we're really excited to get another boy!
Big sis Kami really, really, REALLY wanted a sister. But she really does love him, despite the look she's giving him in this picture!
Congrats, Ruth & Rob!

Veggie Tales Birthday Cake
My two year old granddaughter loves Veggie Tales, especially Bob. So there really wasn't any other choice for her birthday cake!
I've used this technique a couple of times now, but I always seem to have the lines.
Somehow, I'm not getting the buttercream in there tight enough. From a distance it looks great but if you get up close, this is what you see.
But January didn't seem to notice. Hope you had a wonderful birthday!!
