Pretty Flower Cookies!

 I've been wanting to make flower cookies for a while and I finally got the chance this week!

I outlined the petals, filled them, then "drug" the color through with a toothpick, a technique I've used before.    For the centers, I made circles out of glaze on waxed paper about three days ahead of time so they would have plenty of time to harden.  When the glaze on the cookies was dry, I attached the center to each flower with a drop of glaze.

I hope I have a reason to make more of these soon!!

Razorbacks

Last week I make these Razorback cookies and sent them to a friend's daughter who is serving as an intern in Washington, DC.

ABC, Apple and Butterfly Cookies

My second to oldest granddaughter, Nicole, graduated from Kindergarten last night.  How time flies!!  I was all set to make ABC's and apples.  

Then Nicole decided she liked butterflies!!  So, naturally, I threw in a few butterflies!!

I think it all turned out well.  Except for the cake.  My daughter and Nicole's teacher had some crossed wires or miss communication somehow, and the cake had PINK flowers on it!!  So, I made sure not to take a picture of the cake with the cookies!!

Congratulations, Nicole!!  (See the cake in the background???  Oh, well!)

I made these roses as part of a set of cookies. But since I only showed on version there, I thought I'd show both of them in this post.

My personal favorite is the white rose. Either way, they were delicious!!

Minnie Mouse Cake My Sister Made!

My sister began decorating cakes probably about a year and a half ago. She's just now taking a few Wilton classes and she is doing amazing!! I just had to brag a little!

She makes cakes for her kids, grand kids, friends and family, kind of like me. She loves working with fondant.

Hot Pink Purse Cake

My oldest granddaughter, Natalie, and my mom have birthdays within 6 days of each other. Since my mom was out here visiting, we had a Tea Party-Birthday Party together for them.

My grand kids always pick their birthday cakes, but Natalie told me to surprise her this year. I have been looking for an excuse to try a purse, so here it is!
